Challenges

Welcome to the challenges section of Hebrew Mastery! In this section you'll find challenges that will help you along your Hebrew learning journey. The challenges are designed in a way to provoke you to use what you already know in Hebrew, as well as to direct you to explore new aspects (e.g: new vocabulary) of the language that you haven't seen before.

Since different people that visit the website have different levels of Hebrew, it is only fair that I device this section to accommodate for that. For now this section will be devided to beginner, intermediate and advanced. With some challenges there will be some questions in the end so that you can test yourself. You don't have to do that but it helps check yourself.

Teacher's note: Do not be discouraged if you can't get it at first, take small steps and eventually you'll not only master all the challenges, but the entire language if you persist.

Beginner Level

For the beginner level challenges you are expected to know the Hebrew Alphabet, and some basic vocabulary. It is fine to learn the vocabulary along the way, but the alphabet is a must. If you're just starting out, please go to the study materials section here to get the materials for the learning the alphabet.

1. Ron and Sarah first conversation after a long time - A brief conversation between two old friends, Ron and Sarah. Read and answers the questions. [Reading comprehension]

2. Going to the shop - David goes to the shop and asks the shop owner some questions.  [Reading comprehension]

3. Planning traveling - This challenge slightly harder than the first two. The vocabulary is still basic. It is written as a thought process , the kind of internal dialog people have in their heads sometimes. If you can understand this passage well enough, I am confident you can have a basic conversation in Hebrew already. If you can't fully understand it yet, no worries, you'll get there.

Intermediate Level

For the intermediate level challenges you are expected to have already been studying Hebrew for sometime and you already have some vocabulary and grammar under your belt.

1. The giving tree story

2. Mock news website

Advanced Level

For the advanced challenge I believe we should take real live Hebrew material, having you understand it will take your Hebrew to the highest level

1. Article 1
